had myself bit
A while ago I posted a picture of a bruise that was left on a girls arm a few days after I bit her. At a party she pinced me in the cheeks really hard, and I enjoy biting, so I bit in the arm. Her reaction was "he's biting me, and he's not stopping! hahaha.."
Later I got another email that she didn't know for sure anymore if it had been me, and i confessed to the act with pride.
But I had myself bit, because some people where sincerly shocked by my way of showing affection. It didnt leave any bruises, only a few painfull bumps on my arm..Katja just sent me the proof (the biter is melanie)

Ok, so there are two sites i found now for confessions,
one i think is fake, cuz all the sent in stuff is in collage form, and actually pretty nice, it looks like a couple of people have been cutting and pasting on a kitchen table for a couple of days,
and the other one is much more real and honest looking, and i can really imagine people in there office typing in secret thoughts,
it helped in a strange way...

3d painted rooms 2
So Esther Kempf (she has a really nice optical illusion show in Moira in Utrecht till this sunday)
reminded me today of the work of jan dibbets, to give a back up to the 3d painted rooms..
She works with optical illusions, in such a way that you seem to enter a chaotic room, with boxes everywhere, but when viewed on a monitor in the other room, the camera angle turned the chaos into a perfect image of a clean house.
the talk also went on to the great gordon matta clark but will blog about that later.

So lala the news that people read words by recognising the amount of letters and the beginning and end letter of a word is old allready, and there is lots of engrish (weird japanese enlish spelling, like lion is spelled rian) stuff on the web, but still this kind of reminded me of how i feel in the morning after a long night out.

A long time i have been wanting to make an artwork with this principle,
I love the way the car is refusing to be shaken to life by the machine, through its suspesion.
How nice would this be in a gallery with a nice and loud monotonous beat..

great eathquake testing movies
My hunt for movies of things being tested for durabilaty or earthquake resistance brought me to these movies today,
here, here, here, and here a childrensroom. They reminded me of a work by Arnout Mik, that made a video with people walking through a collapsing house. Some of his older works can be found here.

I just got back from giving a lecture about my work in extrapool in Nijmegen (NL),
After showing a big part of my collection of found footage, ( a lot can be found on this blog),
i saw they do a lot of cool stuff down there, like the 3rd of march there will be a music and performance night,
and guess who'll show up there, yes Harry Merry! mp3 here
but also evelien melis, who made this this this and more, with a 3d wallpaper,
the idea firecompany with frans de waard
anyway, they seem to program really well (small independant publisher festivities, wallpaper projects...)

i had an idea this should be possible, and finally its here,
lets see how it works, but for tonight it worked just fine for me.
on www.pandora.com you enter the name of an artist you like and the site builds
a radio station with similar music. After that you can finetune it and start new ones.

this one is really good cause it is one simple shot,

Tuesday night feelgood post
i still prefer to call David H, Michael Knight because that was still has best work, although this video
is good. It is wrong on so many levels i won't bother trying to analyse it, all i can say is Mr Knight is definitely hooked.
my guess is, his local dealer had some cheap sales pitch about a new drug called Feeling and it being quite the rage etc.

Losl & found is having doing a really cool evening in New york tommorow.
Anybody thats around there, should go and see it!
it will be a really good and memorable evening.

In there latest evening in Amsterdam, the music edition (with help of guest curator "job van Bennekom")
they showed a nice movie by Wollfgang Tillmans, in his video called "Lights (body)" you basicly only see the moving and flashing lights in a club
together with a beat that gives the whole thing a real club feal, but you never see the people.
A fully functional working club without anybody in it can always mesmerize me.
In the w139 exhibition "what is, what can be" Marjolijn Dijkman
is showing a simalar movie, now with the soundtrack by "scooter" All the ravers unite yeah!!
only this movie made less of an impact (although the song reminded me of the days i hated that music
and the drugs where still working), mainly because it wasnt as straight forward and clean cut,
and there where trees in the video. Probably because the trees ment to contrast the club thing,
but in this case it didnt really work well. But then again I think there should be more loud
happy hardcore or other non arti farti loud dance-able music in gallery spaces.
REASON FOR THIS POST:
Both these movies are actually totally irrelavant, cause as you can see here (video link under image)
a movie by people that are trying to sell a disco light, is actually just the same..

Two nights ago I happend to stumble upon this BBC4 political satire TV show, being aired on BBC2. It's the kinda cutup stuff you are used to see on the internet, but it's refreshing to see on television. (eventhough at 1 am)In Holland you now have a station called Llink (the smallest station with the biggest ideals).
A new trend in TV land or just a Marcusian doom scenario of the "system" incorporating a technique of repressive tollerance?

Some broken hearts
I hadn't checked BSTV in a while. they put some newexcerpts of old music videos up. There's plenty of nice ones to see, I liked seeing my
favourite Specials song "Ghosttown"
and "Mickey Mouse" by The Sparks. (They are playing on
the 21st of februari btw at Paradiso - Amsterdam, still in doubt wheter or not to go)
But i was really excited About the Telly Savalas video.
Its such a great song and one of my better 25 cent spending binges.
